Wild animals and reptiles

The hills of the Alta Langa surrounding Borgo are home to countless wild animals. You might encounter foxes, hares, stone martens, badgers, deer, and even dormouse (ghiri). Wild boars and wolves are also regularly seen. Wild boars are hunted between October and March because their population is growing rapidly. Local farmers also know how to make delicious dishes from them – from stew to salami.
