Help! I can't find the entrance to the Borgo on the route planner!

That's certainly true. Number 15 doesn't exist in older route planners. You'll find number 14, and then you're essentially at the bottom of the hill. Drive two more bends (400 meters) uphill, and you'll find the entrance on the left.

What are the arrival and departure times?

During high season, arrivals are only possible on Saturdays (7 days) and Sundays (6 days) from 4:00 PM onwards due to cleaning. If you'd like to arrive earlier because you're already in the area, please let us know and send us a WhatsApp message. You can, for example, already be seated on the terrace.

Departures during high season are on Saturdays before 10:00 AM due to cleaning.

During the early and late season, arrival and departure dates are flexible and depend on the booking and booking period.

Can I book individual apartments during high season?

Initially, the Borgo will be rented out in its entirety from late June to mid-September. From April onwards, you can also choose individual apartments or combination options during free weeks. Is there parking?

Yes, there are four parking spaces available in the parking lot behind the pool. For group bookings, there's also space to park up to two cars in the courtyard. There's also an additional parking area at the front.

Can I charge my EV car at Borgo?

Accepted Answer

There is currently no charging station available at the Borgo. Several charging stations are available in the surrounding villages. This is easy to combine with grocery shopping or lunch. We're happy to show you the way.

Question 6

How far is the nearest town or supermarket?

Accepted Answer

Cortemilia is the nearest village with two supermarkets. Market day in Cortemilia is on Friday morning. There's also an organic supermarket in the town center. You'll also find three banks and a large pharmacy where you can find almost anything. If you need medication, be sure to bring your prescription. Cortemilia also has a few bars. Even closer to home, a 5-minute drive away, is the village of Castelletto Uzzone, where you'll find a large bakery and bar. You can also find basic groceries there. Cairo Montenotte, with a Lidl and Conad supermarket, is just over a 20-minute drive away. Thursday morning is also market day there.

We eat gluten-free. Can I get that?

Absolutely. Italy is one of the friendliest countries when it comes to gluten-free food, as it's even enshrined in law. You'll find gluten-free food in all supermarkets. Most restaurants also offer gluten-free options. Feel free to ask.

Question 8

Can I bring pets?

(Small) pets are allowed indoors. Please discuss this with your landlord. Maximum 2 pets are allowed only in the Mare and Olive apartments.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely. When booking, please indicate how many children will be traveling with you and their ages. A cot may be available for very young children. You are responsible for supervising the pool. Children under 10 years old do not pay tourist tax.

Do you offer breakfast?

Accepted Answer

In principle not. If desired and in consultation, we can reserve bread from the local bakery for the first morning. You can also indicate daily how much and what type of bread you'd like for the next day. It will then be stored separately for you until you pick it up. Brioche and croissants, in particular, sell out quickly because many Italians eat breakfast at the bar.

Can I smoke in my apartment?

The holiday home is non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside on the terrace. Consultation is always appreciated.

Question 12

Is the accommodation wheelchair accessible?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not. The Borgo is built on a hill, and there are stairs everywhere. While the ground-floor apartments are easily accessible, the doorways are generally too small. There are also no additional amenities in the bathrooms to make your stay more comfortable.

Is there public transport nearby?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There's a bus stop at the bottom of the hill, but the number and frequency of routes are very limited. Most public transport is geared towards schoolchildren.

Question 14

Can I also fly and rent a car or take the train?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. It's best to fly into Genoa (1 hour and 25 minutes to the airport) and rent a car there. Other options include Turin and Milan. These airports are a two-hour drive away. Milano-Bergamo is best known for Ryanair flights, but this airport is over 3.5 hours away. The train doesn't reach Borgo, as there are no rail connections in our valley. The nearest train station is Cairo Montenotte. Flying into Genoa and then taking the train via Savona to Cairo Montenotte is an option, but you will need to be picked up there.
